With an incredible history behind it, the Rio Cinema is a veritable institution in Dalston since it set up as a theatre for ‘electric pictures’ in the 1905. Now the beautiful Art Deco building caters to its local patrons with annual Turkish, Kurdish, and Spanish film festivals, Parent and Baby matinees (where screaming is expected), midweek classics and a free matinee in the middle of each month with complimentary tea and cake.
