The West End

UJ GUIDES > USEFUL INFO > NEIGHBOURHOODS > The West End

Encompassing Theatreland via Shaftesbury Avenue and the Strand, the West End also plays home to some of the capital’s major shopping venues. Oxford Street’s high street offerings, Regent Street’s international imports, and Bond Street’s luxury brands are all within spitting distance, whilst Carnaby Street provides a pedestrianized option for independent stores in Soho – where media creatives make their mark alongside a thriving gay scene , sex shops, and the bustling Chinatown nearby. Covent Garden’s cobbled market square is always buzzing with street performers, tourists, and locals looking to enjoy the vast array of restaurants, bars and clubs, whilst the Seven Dials provide yet more shopping alternatives, catering to smaller boutiques and brands.
