If you’re looking for a quiet, leisurely lunch by the sea, head north to Cala Xuclar. Don’t expect tons of facilities – there’s no reception, only a few parasols and chairs to rent, and the drive to get in is steep – but this is part of the charm, and what keeps the crowds away. Bring shoes to swim in (the entry to the water is slippery and rocky), a snorkel and cash, and you’re set to have a great day. The small chiringuito on the beach has only a handful of tables, and isn’t the best secret – so for any hope of dining there, be sure to call a few days in advance (numbers below). They also serve mean cocktails, should you prefer to spend your time on the beach. Taxis will come here, but you’ll have to hike up to get reception to call one. If you want to stay somewhere close by, there’s Ca Sa Vilda Marge, a small/quaint agroturismo about 3 minutes away. And Los Enamorados is close too, if you want to catch a sunset.
