Louise Amstrup
ONIOFF and Monday got off to a great start with the Loiuse Amstrup collection. The dresses were stand outs with some soft folding and draping which was expertly handled to avoid bulkyness or lumpiness; both dangers when complex drapes are involved.
The colour plaette was edited with a rich indigo playing a key role as well as well as Neopollitan ice cream shades; all with the added dash of black and white stripes in a truly dazzling range of scales and types. Stand out pieces were a layered indigo navy and nude chiffon dress with a geometric construction, and a terrific combination of soft chiffon blouse, classic grey sweatshirting tulip skirt and a neat vest. This unusual combination indicated the originality of the collection and its careful, and successful, walking of the tight rope between dressed up and easy.
Watch for Louise in the coming seasons as she further develops her signature which already original and indicates a designer who understands both the style and needs of contemporary woman and combines it with fashion flair.
