ON|OFF PRESENTS: Alexander Koutny
The complex construction of these clothes was remarkable, and the tense colour palette of shaded and tinted blacks like a deep peacock shot with black or a turquoise silk shot with black were perfectly selected for the construction lines and the folding and draping. fabric varied from slithery polished jersey through to stiff grosgrain and poult taffetas.
The silhouettes cleverly encompassed hour glass curves as well as boxier shoulders and and more aggressive shapes. Overall the collection made a strong cohesive statement and worked well in original terms. Some of the shapes and silhouettes needed a touch of refinement to make a tiny bit more flattering to the woman but this is a minor criticism as regards a confident and sophisticated collection.
