The soundtrack was perfect, the new layout of the space was perfect and the clothes were certainly perfect, in fact total harmony reigned throughout the presentation of the Josh Goot collection. Perhaps it is his avowed interest in the elemnts, or the clean simplicity of his line, or the unhurried crossings of the models but a calm descended and remained until the applause broke at at the end.

These are the clothes where the art is concealed by the art. A tiny emerald green capelet, over a pollen yellow curve hemmed tunic over a hot pink long slim skirt where ever proportion and element of fit was absolutely right. The colour proportion and fit were such that they never wrinkled in the wrong places or moved in an ugly fashion. Turquoise, ochre and sea foam, or nude, black and white, nude sea foam and lilac; each colour combination introduced a different layering with slim dresses, straight skirts, simple slim trousers and a wrap jacket with a tiny zip fastening.

Although the show opened with print the print was used as almost punctuation to the colour blocking; triple layered print organza re creating the waves on the shore, a top formed of printed organza handkerchiefs like a cloud, or a floor length vest dress shimmering like a fire opal. This was a great London debut, let us hope Mr Goot stays with us for a few seasons so we can watch his development.
