Debuts on the catwalk are always difficult, and in a packed schedule at London Fashion Week it is well nigh impossible! So a small but select crowd viewed the interesting first collection of Romina, where two things really stood out: first, the girl can cut and secondly she knows exactly what she wants to say.

The sharp angles and the clear cut arcs and curves declared a geometric influence, whilst the colour palette remained severe in predominantly putty, chalk white, and black. Sportswear lines also showed up in the contouring of the pieces to the body, allied to the use of zips.

Overall the collection worked because of its editing and clear cut view of construction techniques in line, form and fit. Now we watch with interest for Romina’s next collection, which will hopefully consolidate and expand the impression made by this first offering.
