Henry Holland, Alexander Schulman and the rest in the audience, meant this must be a hot ticket and a strong show. In some ways it was - the wild Carmen Miranda scarf and rag wrapped heads worn with dark glasses conjoured up a Hollywood 40's feel which certainly sat well with the poolside dressing of ruffled organza blouses, wild chiffon caftans and smock dresses and riotous mix and match ginghams.
The wild coloured organza with zip details also had a rather chic air and the jersey pieces mixed with print looked stylish. An all over printed cat suit, denim clam diggers and the Betty Boop print though strayed in to more uncertain territory, perhaps successfully covered by Castelbajac? Bold stripes in black and grey again looked bold but chic, especially with the jewelled bandana, turbanesque hair style and scarlet heeled espadrilles. Two sexy swimsuits looked good but we needed more to make a true statement. To sum up then - the show was strong but there were some oddities which blurred the overall statement; but it still whets the appetite for where the designer will go next.
