Thavius Beck
Yet another chap hailing from the heated climes of HelLA. The beatsmith Thavius Beck (aka one half of hip hop duo k-the-I) has appeared on our radar after his intricate echo-bounce remix of Daedlus’ ‘Touchstone’ dropped on our desk. Rolling sooo deep with the likes of Gaslamp Killer and Subtitle., know this is future beats hip hop at its intelligent, chrome plated finest. HolLA!

D. Lissvik
Isn’t weird how all that Swedish balearica business seems perfectly suited both for the summer and winter months? Anyhoo, Dan Lissvik one half of Swedish left of centre sensations Studio, has released the best DJ Harvey worthy piece of conceptual beat ridden disco pop to appear on the scene since A Mountain Of One. The album ‘7 Trx + Intermission’  is so very necessary. Like a holiday in January.

Harlem
…may have quite possibly made the best throwback garage rock album of ’08. And that’s saying something! The Austin trio’s Free Drugs ;-) LP takes, like, the best part of, like, The Pixies, The Velvets and somewhat debatably Dylan, rolls it all up in a massive duvet of post-post-post fun loving and runs with it. If the infectious rhythms and ramshackle recording quality doesn’t get you, the lyrics surely will. Really, buy the album.

Don’t forget to check the free download of their killer ‘South Of France’ single here mind.
