We chat to the head barman of Rochelle Canteen ICA

What’s your favourite London restaurant?
Barrafina – it’s always a nice treat to pop in for lunch and watch the chefs cook your meal in front of you. By going on your own you can usually beat the queue too!

Where do you go to celebrate?
To celebrate my wedding this year I’ve booked the private dining room at St John. It’s really special – the perfect place for friends and family to enjoy a proper shared meal.

What’s your order at the bar?
My order at the bar usually reflects the time of day and mood I’m in: something lively during the day, citrusy and fresh. For the evening the darker spirits rule and a more rounded Old Fashioned, made with aged rum or tequila will usually hit the mark.

What’s your local?
A great cocktail bar called Ladies and Gents in Kentish Town. Built in an old, underground Victorian public toilet, this bar does serious drinks in a relaxed environment and I’m usually still there when the lights go up!

Where do you for a dance?
If the mood takes me (rarely I admit) I head down into the depths of El Camion on Brewer street, where margaritas co-exist with loud music and more bartenders than should ever really be in one place. You dance to what, I’m pretty sure, is the same playlist every week. Come to think of it, I’m usually here when the lights go up too!
