Track of the Week: Santogold - selected by Audio Sushi

While Santogold (aka Santi White) and producer/songwriter John Hill, aka Johnny Rodeo formed the nucleus of this creation, the Santogold landscape is speckled with the flavor of DJ's/Producers and underground fly kids who have rallied behind them to deliver some all around hot shit: The late great Disco D, Switch, Sinden, Freq Nasty, Diplo, Radioclit, leadguitarist Clifford "Moonie" Pusey of Steel Pulse, former Bad Brains drummer, Chuck Treece, Naeem Juwan of Spank Rock, M.I.A, and Trouble Andrew or basically some of the best producers and interesting musicians on the planet.

  • Track of the Week: Hard House Banton "Sirens"

With releases from The Killers, Guns N' Roses, Kanye West and TakeThat. Plus Paul McCartney. Who could ask for anything more? Well me.

  • Track of the Week: Mulatu Astatke

Every time I play this I'm asked what it is, so this week is a good week to point out Mulatu Astatke's "Yegelle Tezeta," as never before has African music been so incredibly hot.

  • Track of the Week: Grace Jones "Williams Blood"

Finally, the wait is over....here is the first single from Grace Jones - The Hurricane album. It is called Williams Blood and comes with remixes from Mad Professor, Greg Wilson and Ivor Guest.

  • Track of the Week: Wild Beasts

In the week where we have the quadruple Chart diva pile up of Britney, Beyonce, Christina & Leona I thought it might be a good moment to introduce you to a much more exciting diva, Hayden Thorpe, from the skyrocketing band Wild Beasts.

  • Track of the Week: Friendly Fires "Paris"

Taken from Friendly Fires' eponymous debut album, the Aeroplane remix strips away the vocals and replaces them with the original backing vocals from Brooklyn's Au Revoir Simone.
