Track of the Week from Audio Sushi in association with UJ

Yann Tiersen "Tabarly / Naval"

Tabarly/Naval

Eric Tabarly, considered the father of French yachting, is the subject of  "Tabarly," a Louis Vuitton backed documentary film directed by Pierre Marcel  with musical soundtrack by Yann Tiersen. Tiersen came to attention for his "Amelie" soundtrack. Just one track this week wouldn't do, so we give you tracks 1 & 2. Lost at sea on his way to the Fife Regatta , Tabarly epitomised the perfect symbiosis between a man, a boat and the sea

Artist: Yann Tiersen
Title: "Tabarly / Naval"

  • Track of the Week: Hard House Banton "Sirens"

With releases from The Killers, Guns N' Roses, Kanye West and TakeThat. Plus Paul McCartney. Who could ask for anything more? Well me.

  • Track of the Week: Mulatu Astatke

Every time I play this I'm asked what it is, so this week is a good week to point out Mulatu Astatke's "Yegelle Tezeta," as never before has African music been so incredibly hot.

  • Track of the Week: Grace Jones "Williams Blood"

Finally, the wait is over....here is the first single from Grace Jones - The Hurricane album. It is called Williams Blood and comes with remixes from Mad Professor, Greg Wilson and Ivor Guest.

  • Track of the Week: Wild Beasts

In the week where we have the quadruple Chart diva pile up of Britney, Beyonce, Christina & Leona I thought it might be a good moment to introduce you to a much more exciting diva, Hayden Thorpe, from the skyrocketing band Wild Beasts.

  • Track of the Week: Friendly Fires "Paris"

Taken from Friendly Fires' eponymous debut album, the Aeroplane remix strips away the vocals and replaces them with the original backing vocals from Brooklyn's Au Revoir Simone.
