Levant

Now that we can no longer indulge in those bubbling, apple-scented shisha pipes (a Godsend for a friend of mine who was beginning to develop a serious habit - do you know how much worse they are for you than cigarettes!) we're feeling that we need a little something more than just kebabs to entice us into random Lebanese restaurants.
Levant is without doubt one of the more superior specimens around. Instead of unflattering flourescent lighting and abrupt service you can expect rose petal-strewn banquettes and high-class belly-dancers that have whatever the equivalent of an MA in midriff and booty-shaking is (the idea might be tacky but the reality is mesmerising). Oh, and the food is exceptional, whether it's one of the numerous blends of hoummus they serve or spiced whole shoulder of lamb.
But the thing that's got us heading there this weekend is the scallop and lobster feast, a three course menu that costs £25 and includes a glass of Pomegranate Fizz (champagne and pomegranate syrup) on arrival. You hardly need the belly-dancers.
