Harvey Nichol's Fifth Floor Bar

Image

We warned you about this one last week. Dangerously swanky, the new Fifth Floor Bar at Harvey Nic's reopens its door tonight after a bit of a spruce-up to celebrate its 15th anniversary.

The place now has a distinctly Russian feel, with Stolichnaya as the house vodka, which can be infused with virtually any flavour you choose - existing flavours, cucumber and mint tea or vanilla and fig may inspire you - and a red leather, eight person, private toasting room (basically just an excuse for multiple shots of vodka) to drink it in.

If you wish to mingle with the commoners however you can plump for the main bar area which has come over all Stalinesque too, with a steel and glass installation thingy (we think that's the correct term) rising up from the central bar.

Not forgetting about the food, the Fifth Floor Restaurant's Swedish Executive Chef, Jonas Karlsson, has come up with a range of 'zakuskie' (Russian bar snacks) like caviar and blinis, crab and lobster salads and pel'meni (the Ruskie version of wontons) to keep you going.

You can't say we don't keep it international here at UJ.
