Tom Ilic

We're not short of places to get a decent steak in London, and if you're in an excessively carniverous mood there's always St John (and now Hereford Road), but apart from Bodean's there aren't that many places, as far as I know, dedicated to swine. Until now.
Seasoned chef Tom Ilic who has carved out a career most recently at places like Bonds in the city, was first fully in charge of a kitchen at the late Stepping Stone in Battersea - so it's heart-warming that he has now taken over the gaff (which was known as the Food Room in between) completely and is very much making it his own.
Okay, so the menu isn't entirely porcine in its leanings, there are also starters of smoked haddock tortellini, crisp pancetta and buttered leeks and mains of slow cooked beef, roasted bone marrow and caramelised root vegetables, but if you like your meat with a snout and a curly tail there's braised pig's cheeks and chorizo with garlic and parsley mash that you can chase with honey roast pork belly, seared scallops, jerusalem artichokes and hazelnuts.
And considering how reasonable the prices are you'll probably leave feeling rather portly too.
