Canteen

Where to refuel whilst Christmas shopping? Always a tricky one.
If Marylebone Village is your chosen path to tread, and there aren't many as festive and fashionable right now, you may want some let up from the hordes once you've pillaged KJ's Laundry, Matches and Daunt Books.
The good news is all-day diner Canteen has just opened its third branch a hop, skip and jingle away on Baker Street, and although we at UJ aren't huge fans of chains, however hip, we find it hard to resist Canteen's consistently good comfort food at even more comforting prices.
Who can go wrong with smoked haddock, spinach and mash or pork belly with baked apple, followed by gingerbread with poached pears? Or a rhubarb bellini? Or one of their infamous homemade jam doughnuts? Just to get in training for 'the big day', you understand.
You can even continue to browse for gifts as the new 'Bistro' table, designed by Very Good & Proper, of which Canteen co-owner Patrick Clayton-Malone is a part, is now available from TwentyTwentyOne.com.
Have a style-conscious, Great British Christmas.
