Top 5: Spring Tonics

  • 45 Jermyn St.

The look at 45 Jermyn St. is old-school suave and the menu ranges from breakfast to late night supper. The wine list is superior and boasts 230 choices and the cocktails seem fun, with carbonated Rickies and ice cream floats. As for the caviar trolley, choose from Iranian beluga 000, golden oscietra and Siberian sturgeon – all from £2 per gram. Decisions, decisions.

  • Franciacorta & Prosecco Bar at Harvey Nichols

Inspired by the wine bars of Venice, Polpo is to launch a Franciacorta & Prosecco Bar in its newly opened POLPO Knightsbridge, on the Fifth Floor of Harvey Nichols. Exactly as it says on the tin: all manner of Franciacorta, Prosecco and Prosecco-based cocktails will be served– so expect a 101 in Italian sparklers. Wash it all down with plates of cicchetti such as zucchini arancini and fig and prosciutto crostini.

  • The Marksman

Thanks to veteran St. John chefs Tom Harris and Jon Rotheram, the stalwart Marksman pub is our go-to for brunch in Hackney. Expect a menu of develled mussels on toast, roast saddleback shoulder and the not-to-be-missed brown butter and honey tart. Behind the bar, old world wines are the focus, as are beers and ales. Oh, and Vermuth and soda is a must It’s not on the menu — just ask.

  • Sager + Wilde Restaurant

Could this be the best team in London? In charge of the menu is Australian chef Sebastien Myers, previously head chef at Chiltern Firehouse, with the help of John O’Dowd of St. JOHN and Alex Casey of Viajante. On cocktails is Marcis Dzelzainis of Dandelyan and sommelier Cedric Maillard comes from Fera. Dream team, enough said!
