This summer! It's flying by! Already July, Ibiza is in full swing. And this season, things are feeling different.
First up, the new haunts and closures. It may have taken awhile to open last summer, but Booom's still here and going strong; with its new party Glitterbox, it's great to see more fashion-led imagery on the island, following in the footsteps of Paradise. Then there's Sacca… after one short season, it's gone – and there seems to be a bit of a “bring back Aura” movement happening on Facebook. Only time will tell!
Next, there's the location shake-up. Playa d'en Bossa and San An are two areas that we've always ignored, but this summer, it's becoming harder to do so. With Jonathan Thorogood's new restaurant Beachouse (yes, we checked the spelling…) opening on Playa d'en Bossa and Sands continuing to put on some fun day raves (in its new location, keep up), it isn't completely a no-go zone this year. And with much loved artists like Tensnake and Jillionaire (Major Lazer) taking a walk on the wild side and performing at Gatecrasher Ibiza (ex Eden) this year, there is some mention of San An around, too.
And, of course, bring on the Ibiza musical chairs. Long time Pacha music director Danny Whittle is now out of Booom in Ibiza town and is instead helping Sankey's in Playa d'en Bossa. Plus, he's rolling out the Ibiza gold dust even further with his company, IBZ entertainment, putting on a new festival, The Isle of Dreams in Switzerland, Israel, and Turkey with largely Ibiza talent. Israel and Turkey we're up for, not so sure about San An and Playa just yet. Instead, we're yearning for the real Ibiza that is hidden beach parties and secret raves. Until then, see you at DC10. |

It’s no secret that we’re long-time fans of the Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes, and we’re pretty excited about the return of Idris Elba’s 7 Wallace & Friends summer residency this year (their official media partner this year?
