All You Need Is Love
Lovey Dovey

Ah love.

Isn't it a splendid thing? You can't force it, or buy it, but sometimes, when you are terribly lucky - it just falls in your lap.

Which is why were a bit confused about the True Love Project, launching today at The Shop at Bluebird. Described as "vacillating somewhere between John & Yoko's Bed In and a somewhat twisted version of [the] newlywed bliss in Barefoot in the Park", the conceptual theatre/installation work has got everyone talking.

Apparently, Love Artist Kathe Izzo will "fall in love" and live with a selection of strangers of varying races, genders and sexualities. (We did this, too. It was called Uni.)

But the twist, Izzo will do this PUBLICLY in six specially chosen spaces around the world and each love affair will last a total of two weeks. Love with a time limit? Hmm, not really love then, more like rent.

Viewers will be able to observe said couples - we like the look of London choice, Paul Hurley from Cardiff - in addition to reading and seeing pictures of the affair on the online blog publicloveproject.com.

But, wait, here's where it gets interesting. The public is also able to make "private love appointments with the public lovers, together and/or separately" during store hours at Bluebird.

Intriguing, no? Fortnight love. Love appointments. Sounds more Pretty Woman than Damian Hurst. Finally, an art installation project we can get behind.

Or, um, under.

Public Love Project - opens to public tomorrow at The Shop at Bluebird, 350 King's Road, SW3.
