FRIDAY

EAT:
MOTHER CLUCKER AT THE ENDURANCE
  PARTY:
ECSTASY, PASSION AND PAIN'S 2ND BIRTHDAY AT XOYO

The fried chicken fad is still raging despite the backlash – and the latest outpost to put the Colonel to shame is Mother Clucker. Taking over The Endurance in Soho for 6 weeks (former residents Pitstop will be back in their cart on Berwick Street), "MC" will serve Louisiana-style, twice fried, free-range chicken, marinated in sweet tea brine for 12 hours, with waffle fries and buttermilk biscuits. A pop up to cluck home about.   What started as a disco den in the basement of Dalston Superstore two years ago is now a stalwart for disco lovers. To celebrate Ecstasy, Passion and Pain's second birthday, founder Mylo is taking the crew to XOYO (where else?). The shimmy-inducing line-up comes from the Destroyer of Rock and Roll himself plus lynchpin Morgan Geist and disco nouveau ambassador Daniel Wang. Big up the discotheque.

SATURDAY

EAT:
LITTLE SOCIAL
  THEATRE:
ABOVE AND BEYOND AT
CORINTHIA HOTEL

Michelin star restaurant Pollen Street Social just got a little sister at no.5, Little Social. Fathered by Jason Atherton (the man behind Singapore's latest outpost of PSS) the Parisian style bistro will serve a prix-fixe lunch and an à la carte dinner. On the menu (du jour) are provincial dishes such as slow cooked egg with parmesan and squash soup, pork chops with butternut squash puree, and goat's milk rice pudding to give some je ne sais quoi to this Pollen Street descendent. To book email reservations@littlesocial.co.uk or call the restaurant on 02078703730   If you loved Somerset House's immersive theatre experience In The Beginning was The End, then you'll definitely want to book in for this. Theatre collective Look Left Look Right is taking over the Corinthia Hotel with a theatre show set against the backdrop of a fully operational hotel. Be guided one-on-one through a series of different scenes – from the lobby to the back of house areas – based on the historic stories of the building, which was once the Ministry of Defence and the Hôtel Métropole. The butler did it.

CALENDAR PICK

Nanban Pop Up at The Prince Arthur

MasterChef winner Tim Anderson is upping the stakes and transforming Hackney gastro pub The Prince Arthur to an haute-cuisine hotspot, with his two-day pop up, Nanban. Plating up six courses as a teaser menu for his soon-to-be permanent Shoreditch restaurant, the umami laden menu consists of delicate dishes such as grilled sardines stuffed with mentaiko (chili-cured cod roe), crunchy grilled rice balls stuffed with citrus-rubbed chicken and pork belly braised in soy sauce, brown sugar and awamori. Oishii indeed.

KIDS

GKFW

Kids – we usually stay away from them. Until now. This week saw the first ever Global Kids Fashion Week (GKFW) – showcasing the likes of Oscar De La Renta, Paul Smith Junior, Chloé, Little Marc Jacobs, Missoni, Marni and Nike to name a few. Also on the mini-me radar are websites Little Hanbury – a chic boys only clothing website – and 10 Little Birds selling kids presents for under £10. That's the under 10s sorted.

SUNDAY

BRUNCH:
THE CORNER
  MUSIC:
NOBU UNPLUGGED

After a spot of Sunday Selfridges shopping (hello Shoe Carnival), head to the wonder store's latest restaurant addition The Corner (from another MasterChef winner, 2012's Keri Moss) for some champagne brunching. Pull up a pew at the marble bar and graze on mackerel tartare, poached quail eggs and candied quinoa – or go for the classic Sunday brunch menu – brioche French toast with maple syrup for us. All washed down with some bubbles.   Nobu Unplugged is coming up trumps. This month's music session will see Laura Mvula, the orchestral soul princess and predicted "Voice of 2013", take to the stage alongside rock and roll heiress Leah Weller (who is currently recording an album with Universal) and MOBO UnSung winner Jacob Banks. Live music and a bento box: how Sundays should be spent.
