FRIDAY

EAT:
8 Mount Street
  DRINK:
The Gibson

Out with Le Chabanais, in with 8 Mount Street. The new restaurant taking the place of the short-lived Parisian bistro will channel the vibe of the Mediterranean into Mayfair. Enjoy a simple, seasonal menu such as beetroot and goat cheese salad, grilled veal chops, and lobster linguini. As for the drinks, there’s a good wine list and we suggest paying special attention to the extensive selection of natural wine and grower Champagne.   Now to Old Street to a new Edwardian-style cocktail bar, The Gibson. With a bar team formed of Nightjar head bartender, Marian Beke, and The Connaught’s Senior Mixologist, Rusty Červen, expect an original menu of seasonal cocktails, served alongside the bar’s signature mix, The Gibson cocktail (vermouth and gin garnished with a pickled onion).

SATURDAY

EAT:
La Cabina
  DRINK:
Coin Laundry

Carrying on the late night dining trend comes la Cabina, the new tapas and cocktail bar that promises to serve its full tapas menu until 5am, Thursday to Saturday. This means forget soggy kebabs and think roasted octopus, grilled, sherry-marinated mackerel and slow-cooked pork belly with, of course, flowing cocktails.   Or, try some retro classics: chicken Kievs, prawn cocktails, black forest trifles and SodaStream drinks at Coin Laundry. The 70s-inspired, all-day restaurant promises to hark back to family favourites but with modern twists (seasonal, local artisanal ingredients… you know the drill). Matching the menu, expect kitsch tableware, pinball machines and board games. It's office friendly too: freelancers, take note.
