We’re bouncing all over the place this weekend, from negronis on a floating barge and beer pizzas and vermouth all over town to a 14 hour Krankbrother party, a photography exhibition, art fairs and a homage to Malcolm McLaren. There is no theme this weekend, just London-centric fun. But, if you fancy jetting off to sunnier climes, we’ve got Sardinia on our mind…(hint: click the banners). Enjoy!

IS FRADIS X SECRETSUNDAZE PARTY

THURSDAY 2 JUNE

Sponsored Listing

As you know, we love Ibiza, but this year, we’re also feeling the need to mix it up a bit. So, this summer we’re looking to Is Fradis beach club in Sardinia, set on Cala Sinzias, one of Sardinia’s most beautiful beaches. Here you’ll find fresh authentic Sardinian food, spritz sundown happy hours, local craft Sardinian beer (it’s a thing), and great parties. Last year Bushwacka! threw an amazing party, and this year, on Thursday 2 June, Is Fradis will welcome Secretsundaze for a 12-hour disco/house/techno seaside throw-down. There will be all the usual Secretsundaze shenanigans, with founders Giles Smith and James Priestley headlining alongside a handpicked selection of local DJs playing. For a warm up, listen to their mix below, and then book a flight! Only 2.5 hours from London (fly to Cagliari, then it’s a 35 minute drive). Easy!

Entry to the party is free.

The Legacy of Malcolm McLaren: The ClothesFloating Negroni Bar at House of Peroni

Don your Sex Pistols tee because papa of the punk scene Malcolm McLaren will be under the spotlight this Friday night at the ICA. The panel discussion with Malcolm McLaren’s long-term partner Young Kim, featuring writer Paul Gorman, fashion designer Kim Jones and Man About Town magazine editor Ben Reardon, will address the influence of the late punk pioneer and his relevance to fashion today. A negroni is no longer just a negroni. Last week, we had the pick of the litter at the world’s biggest Negroni Bar in Shoreditch’s Red Gallery. This weekend, we’re hitting the Floating Negroni Bar at House of Peroni. On its own barge and manned by Simone Caporale (previously of the Artesian at The Langham), the masterclass includes a tasting menu of five variations and a 101 in how to make a negroni that floats your boat (sorry!).

EAT:Party:
Art16Krankbrother Present Day and Night Terrace Party

Good art and good food continue to collide. If you’re going to this year’s Art16 fair, make sure to book your table at one of the on-site restaurant pop ups: The Colony Grill Room (Thursday and Friday), The Wolseley (Friday) and The Delaunay (Sunday). Aside from a Corbin & King binge, your art binge will come courtesy of over 1000 artworks from artists and galleries from over 30 countries – we like the sound of Philip Colbert’s ‘Fried Egg World’. Krank up your weekend with a 14-hour shake down at the Oval Space with DJ duo, Krankbrother. Head in from 4pm for outdoor cocktails and a barbecue before things get serious and taken inside for the full throttle electro party, courtesy of Berghain resident Efdemin, vinyl lover DVS1 and east London local resident, Jane Fitz – and, of course, Krankbrother.

EXPLORING SARDINIA

Aside from the partying, there’s the exploring. From wine tasting in the nearby Argiolas vineyard and boat trips to local islands (Serpentara and Cavoli) to Sette Fratelli mountain jeep tours (home to wild boar, hare and deer) and more aperitivo’ing, you won’t be short of things to do here. In terms of where to stay, we have it on good authority that the Hotel Garden Beach, Villas Resort, and the five -star La Villa del Re are all good and less than 10 minutes away.

International Music Summit Ibiza

Competition

It’s that time of year again, IMS and Ibiza openings! And we have a pair of all-access passes to give away. For a reminder, IMS sees the global electronic industry descend on the Hard Rock Ibiza for three days and three nights of talks, parties, networking, inspiration and good times. Highlights this year include by day: keynotes with Erick Morillo and Pet Shop Boys, conversations between the CEO of Ushuaïa (which, as you know, will be taking over Space in 2017) and a re-intro to Richie Hawtin’s ENTER.Sake. There’ll also be pool parties at the Hard Rock, an album launch at Mambo’s Hostal La Torre and by night, it’s Pacha and Dalt Vila. And, if you stay on, your delegate badge is also good for the openings at Ushuaïa and Space. So, if you’re going to be on the island and this sounds good to you, apply here. Winners will be notified end of the week.

SEE:EAT:
Photo LondonLegs

For a mix of camerawork from the best of England’s photographers, head to Somerset House this weekend. With over 80 galleries from across England, there’ll be a pick ‘n’ mix of big name stars with up ‘n’ comers, plus a programme of events, which includes ‘conversations’ (such as Nick Knight with Hans-Ulrich Obrist and Miles Aldridge with Francis Hodgson), screenings (including Bill Cunningham: New York) and a host of book signings. Time to get snap happy. It’s been a slow burn but now vermouth is well and truly on the menu. From the large selection at Morito Hackney to vermouth on tap at newly opened Gotto Tratorria and now, we’re heading to Legs, the new restaurant helmed by Magnus Reid (previously of The Rooftop Café), for their home-made version, made in their ‘makers’ basement. Aside from the vermouth, wine will be focused on small independent producers and the menu will be simple and seasonal (think burrata with pickled watermelon and charred tomato and steak tartare with smoked pecans and buttermilk).
