It’s a funny old time we’re in right now. Prices across the board have gone up, and yet we’re seeing 80s-style extravagances sweeping the capital. We say, pass the caviar tray and here’s hoping it all levels out. Have great weeks all.

Collabs

The collabs, they just keep coming… This week we’re looking at the Umbro x YMC rugby-inspired wares, the retro vibes at Adidas x Gucci, the florals and bandana collection by The North Face x Supreme, the new-style gators on the Lacoste x A.P.C pieces, the subtle stars on the Stüssy x Converse kicks, and the minimal 90s aesthetic of the soon-to-launch (28 June on Jacquemus) Nike x Jacquemus collab.

Get in the queue

Anyone noticed the queues to get into the new ‘corner shop’ on Broadwick and Poland Street? Part Parisian (and Greek they say) café, part menswear boutique, with haute sports bar feels, this is the NYC boutique’s first foray outside of the States. The clothes are preppy, collegiate / sport inspired, and the vibe overall (well-dressed door greeters) is Soho members’ club. Definitely feels new.

Previews From Tomorrow
A family reunion. Time to pay your last disrespects
Sponsored listing

Stranger Things star David Harbour and Bill Pullman (The Sinner, All My Sons, Independence Day) return to the West End in the world premiere of the bitingly funny new play, MAD HOUSE. In rural Pennsylvania, Michael (David Harbour) has returned to his childhood home to look after his dying father, Daniel (Bill Pullman). His siblings Nedward and Pam soon arrive, determined to work out how much money Dad actually has left and how they’re getting their hands on it. Previews start from tomorrow, 15 June, and the play runs until 4 Sept.

Two new on the Ground Floor
Sponsored listing

We’ve long been fans of the wellbeing offering at Harvey Nichols (we love the Light Salon), and now they have two new services to note. A UK exclusive, book in for a facial with Kate Somerville (we have our eyes on the serious but fun-sounding Melrose Place facial), or for something different, try cosmetic acupuncture at Cosmetic Acupuncture Wisdom.

Forks out

We’re going to keep this short. This week, Lina Stores opens reservations lines for their new Marylebone location, Taste of London is on in Regent’s Park, and the Mercato Alighieri (from the jewellery brand Alighieri) is at the Television Centre until 19 June. Also, Robin Gill has a new terrace at the Bermondsey Larder and is doing a communal feast at Birch’s festival, Birch Arising, this weekend.

Finca Cadaquès
For exclusive hire

We love Cadaquès – the seaside artist town approx 1.5 hours from Barcelona that was home to Picasso and Dalí, Duchamp and Man Ray. Close to the nature reserve Cap de Creus (and one of our favourite restaurants), this 10-bed has an infinity pool, piano, wine cellar, and cosy fireplaces, should you rent it in winter.
