I
have an ‘aggressively sexy' (she takes issue
with the word slutty) Italian friend who, for as long
as I've known her, has been husband hunting. Everybody
else's, that is. And that's how I have it
with dinner parties: I love them, but at other people's
houses.
|
 |
So
just like Francesca prefers the adult(uring) nature
of her relationships with married men over cocky youngsters,
I prefer the grown-upness and intimacy of private dinner
parties over glitzy restaurants - just without the shopping,
cooking and cleaning.
But whereas there's no shortage of two-timing married
men seeking a taste of la dolce vita with Francesca,
my friends are onto me. And that's when it's convenient
that you can buy friends like Xavi and Montse: Pay up,
and not only will they shop, cook and clean, but they'll
also open up their house to you.
|
 |
They
call their place Kokun and, besides hosting private
dinners (up to 14 people), they also organize
singles and couples nights, as well as homely
Catalan and Basque cooking classes. Cheap cheap
it's not but, as Francesca would say, good
times rarely are.
Kokun
