From
muffled "urgh, urgh, urhg"s to ecstatic screams
and animalistic roars, it's often only when coital cacophony
breaks the silence that you really get to know your
neighbours. Maybe that's why Fermí Puig has decided
to play it safe.
|
 |
At
least with El
Japonés at number 2, Tragaluz
at number 5, Solo
at number 7, and itself sharing roof with about-to-open
luxury apart-hotel Murmuri
Residence at Passatge de la Concepció
number 13, the location of his new restaurant, Petit
Comité, couldn't have come with better
references.
His neighbours probably also expected the Michelin-starred
chef from Majestic Hotel's Drolma
- that's where starters begin at EUR 39 - to bring an
even higher-spending clientele to the street but, like
every other celebrity foodie these days, he has instead
opted for back-to-basics homely Catalan fare.

 |
So,
rather than percebes, caviar and lobster, it'll
be the aroma of poached eggs, breaded onions and
chicken cannelloni that'll be wafting from no
13. Oh, and at no 11 and 15? The Granés
sixth formers and the Generalitat. That explains
why Fermí keeps it a petit comité.
Petit
Comité - opens today
Passatge de la Concepció 13, Eixample -

Open daily 13h-01h. Ca EUR 50.

Residence - opens this week.
