Chiringuito Cala Xuclar
Lunch by the sea, without the crowds
You know we love a good cove. But in Ibiza in high season, even if you find said cove (with picturesque chiringuito), don’t just think you’ll sit right down and have lunch! Tables need to be booked at least a couple of days in advance. And we’ve got just the digits to do so here…

Tropical Fiesta
A night of dancing at ME Ibiza
On 2nd August, UJ joined forces with Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard, PBR Streetgang and Luca Cazal for a tropical fiesta. Hosted at ME Ibiza’s beautiful RADIO rooftop bar at ME Ibiza, it was a night of disco dancing under the stars, fuelled by Brockmans Gin and fruity cocktails. ‘Tis the season of fancy dress
Gone are the days where the only people in costumes were the performers; this year in Ibiza, it’s all about dressing up. There was the Burning Man villa party with festival-inspired sets (which required suitable costumes to attend), and of course there’s the weekly WooMooN party (where feather getups are a must), but the stand-out was Mert & Marcus’s recent #metalmania party, where Paris Hilton, Riccardo Tisci and a plethora of supes danced to The Martinez Brothers, Honey Dijon and Jackmaster. And they weren’t just wearing tinfoil – these were looks straight from the catwalk – and the five star villa was suitably outfitted, too.

Virgil Abloh
When does he sleep?
Not that we’re keeping track… but the last time we were in Ibiza, Virgil played DC10 on Monday 30th July and Hï on Saturday 4th August (with at least a 7.30am finish). After that it was Chicago for Lollapalooza, then over to LA for a headline set at Hardfest, and he finally stopped in New York for a party at Sony Hall on the 10th. That’s a busy 12 days! And he has – as we all know – another BIG job too. Renaissance man is right, catch him if you can.

Casa Maca
Rollup, rollup! There’s a new airstream in town
So, you know we love Casa Maca for its rustic yet chic agroturismo vibe. Well, they’ve also been throwing dinners to remember under the stars (think grilled meat with festoons and fireworks!), and now, they have a slick new airstream on the property.

Fly the best way to party destinations
Ibiza to Mykonos is a frequent route, but oddly, there are no commercial airlines that offer direct flights. Enter Aero, the brainchild of Craig Pettigrew (a director of BPM), and the new company that will get you where you want to go, faster and in style.

Insider Tips: Boat Hire
Look around!
Boats can be expensive in Ibiza – booking fees, pick up fees, petrol, drinks – so we say look around! After a quick meander in the port of Santa Eularia and in Portinatx, there seem to be a lot of low key options, with captains. Go via a concierge if you can – or book at your own peril: this is just a UJ tip off!

Blowout Ibiza
De-beach yourself and get a glossover
Although we subscribe to the relaxed look of Ibiza, sometimes an upgrade is needed for a special event. If you find yourself needing a blowout, nails and makeup and don’t want to spend all day doing it, try Blowout Ibiza – it’s not going to break the bank, either.
