Now, headsets in a museum are nothing new, but interesting sounds instead of a mumbled Linguaphone guide definitely is.

For Sounds in Spaces, ten different internationally renowned artists and musicians have been asked to choose a room in the V&A and create a sound that's inspired by their surroundings.

Highlights include sounds by Cornelius (Japan's pop-tastic innovator), Elizabeth Fraser (vocalist who has collaborated with Massive Attack and on the Lord of the Rings soundtrack) and a haunting track by Roots Manuva.

It may not be something you can do more than once (sounds of screaming children?), but it should give you a different perspective and keep you in the museum for long enough to check out all those rooms you've been meaning to see.
