| Artist, photographer, writer, filmmaker and political dissident Ai Weiwei is a busy man. He’s currently the subject of a retrospective at the Brooklyn Museum and, closer to home, the Lisson Gallery is showing the conceptual and controversial work of the Beijing-based artist. Expect everything from sculptures made out of bicycles, to pieces such as wooden handcuffs influenced by the artist’s time in detention. |

It’s all about meat tonight: pork, to be specific. The team from Bistrotheque and Hill & Szrok (the newest butcher on the east London strip) will be joining cleavers for a big ol’ ‘piggy feast’. Expect a banquet courtesy of two free-range plantation pigs: from sticky ribs, trotters and tails to trendy starters of bacon popcorn and pig dogs. Drinks wise, there’ll be Redchurch Brewery beer and bacon-infused cocktails aplenty. |

Divided into three sections (the main restaurant, counter dining and raw bar), expect everything from fresh seafood blended using Moroccan and Japanese techniques to the main menu of traditional Shakshoukit (deconstructed kebab) and Jerusalem-style polenta. |

Night Tales is back for one weekend only, with a bank holiday blow out at the Dalston Department Store. The Victorian-cum-industrial space will play host to a tequila bar, a spritz bar, and a pisco bar, with food courtesy of Peruvian powerhouse Andina. DJs Luke Unabomber, Bill Brewster, Frank Broughton and Namedrop & Benoit will be on decks, too. Tickets are only available at the door, so we say get there early. |
