…it’s all about squeezing things in. So if you’re after some fun on the side – we’ve got a couple of things for you. First of all, UJ readers get 50% off tickets to the Honest Grapes Christmas Market. Tom and his team really know their grapes, so if it’s great, lesser-known wines you’re after for family or client gifts, make sure you get down to Gerrard Street this Thursday. As for creative gifts, Columbia Road Wednesdays will have over 60 traders participating in their late night shopping evenings, and for creative trees, get over to Hoi Polloi asap; their @rottingdeanbazaar creation is our kind of tree! Lastly, if you’re in Miami for Art Basel this week, check out our party roundup. Oh, and if you missed our advent calendar, be sure to take a look. Enjoy!

Off the Grid
Time to unplug
Soho House were ahead of the curve by banning pics and phone calls inside, and now it seems people are taking digital detoxing seriously both overseas and close to home. At Eleven Madison Park in NYC, you’ll be asked to put your phone in a box during your meal; we just spied a no phones party at 1-800-Lucky during Miami Basel this week; and we’ve heard new Dalston restaurant Angelina (opening early next year) will feature an intimate six-seater drinking den, Golden Gal, with a strict no phone policy.
Jon Rotherham and Tom Harris
The duo behind Hackney’s much-loved The Marksman have just launched their new venture bunshop at Market Hall Victoria – taking their signature savoury buns from the Marksman’s menu and creating an entire new concept based around them. We caught up with them to chat all things LDN.
What's your local?
Tom: The Gun on Well Street, Hackney.
Jon: I’m a big fan of Brawn.

UJ Playlist
The Levan gang’s party playlist
As you’d expect from a restaurant named after Larry Levan, the soundtrack here is almost as notable as the food. So naturally, we’ve asked director Mark Gurney to put together a festive party playlist for us. But don’t expect Christmas cheese and jingle bells: Mark’s bringing the vibes with cosmic jazz, rare ’80s boogie, uplifting soul and deep disco.

How to Catch a Krampus
A Christmas show with a Sink the Pink spin
It’s already had rave reviews from Evening Standard, The Stage and Londonist, and now we think it’s time to book in for How to Catch a Krampus and see for yourself. Forgo the usual productions and go for Sink the Pink’s dark twist on a Christmas tale – think Sweeney Todd meets the Wicker Man – with a spine-chilling score and appearances from drag legends. Get tickets (usually £25) for £18 with the code URBAN18 at checkout.
