Like
flossing my teeth, going to art galleries is something
that I know is probably good for me, but I rarely do.
Just like I'm already bored after doing the second
tooth, I've usually seen enough after the second
painting.
|
 |
Merely
ducking in and out seems rather rude, though, so lately
I've only been going to the openings, where nobody notices
that you're really there for the red wine and salt sticks.
In fact, my ideal gallery would be one so tiny, so small,
that just one glance would do.
My call must have been heard by El Escaparate in Born
and Siete Metros in Raval. Following the footsteps of
the doorway-sized Wrong
Gallery in Chelsea, New York, the two galleries
are miniscule, nothing more than window displays, really.
Stop, watch, and you're done. Who ever said that small
isn't beautiful?

Mrs
Beckham perhaps. “It is like a tractor exhaust
pipe”, she
assured us last year, classy as always, making
sure that her David's wouldn't be mistaken for
Michelangelo's. But that, of course, is just great
small talk.

Metros - now showing: Colmado Deluxe
