Shopping
for Love |
 |
 |
 |
Absolutely.
No. Sleepovers. Not commitment-phobic, but several friends
of mine enforce this policy when they pull during the
hot months. Without a/c, spooning in August can frankly
make your mother's menopausal hot flashes seem
trivial.
|
 |
But
now, as every year, after a few weeks of chilly weather,
mating season's kicked in and people are shopping
for love again. Not as literally as in New York, where
supermarkets are prime hunting grounds. Feel the melons
for ripeness, check out the meat specials, and bring
home a date.
Admittedly it does sound kind of exciting. But from
personal experience I can tell you that it's rather
impractical. Put something on offer in your cart, and
you're labeled a cheapskate. Anything family-oriented,
and you can brace yourself for a lonely night.

 |
So
if you're prone to buying in bulk, may we
instead suggest this weekend's Salon Singles.
Seduction techniques, social skills workshops,
and dance lessons. The heavy artillery. But tread
carefully, or you'll be shopping for two
by next weekend.
Salón
Singles - Saturday 22-Sunday 23 November
Museo Marítimo, Drassanes
Saturday 11-20h, Sunday 11-19h. EUR 6-10
