I'd
heard that the 80s would come roaring
back this season, but it took running
into a crowd of early arrivals for Bread
& Butter to convince me. There I was,
in the middle of Portal del Angel, and
it felt like a Dynasty meets Miami Vice
fan convention. |
 |
Inspiration
for a 2009 look thus sorted, I ran home
as fast as my hooker heels could carry
me to see if any shoulder pads, jumpsuits
or animal prints gone wild had survived
from the last time the 80s reared its
tie-dyed head. Alas, no. And with no cash
either, my 2009 look seemed destined to
be remarkably similar to my 2008 look.
However, thanks to Swedish hosiery upstart
Happy Socks, there's one 80s look that
even I can afford to indulge in: the accessorizing
ankle socks. With over 100 colourful designs,
and at just 7 euros a pair, this may be
the cheapest sprucing up of my wardrobe
since DIY ripped jeans.
|
 |
It falls a bit short of my envisioned
Joan Collins ensemble, but at least
they'll hint at your fashionable
intentions, regardless if worn with
pumps, trainers or a suit. Just
remember boys: they're Happy
Socks, not happy
socks.
Happy
Socks - EUR 7
per pair
Available to buy online
or at M69
