Since
word got out that Bread & Butter will
be abandoning Barcelona, the questions
have been plenty: will it be for good?
Will one of the two annual editions stay?
And, more importantly, will Custo still
throw parties? |
 |
Me,
I'm mostly concerned about where
I'm now supposed to get all those
lovely promotional totes that all the
stands dump on you. For the past four
years, I've had my beach, shopping
and (sorry, but not all brands are created
equal) trash bag needs pretty much covered.
But whatever your concern, it's
clearly time to get creative - rough
times lie ahead.
Few better places to go, then, than
Complot, the much lauded school 'for creatives
by creatives'. It's the brain child of
Argentinean imports Dan
Peisajovich and Yvonne
Gindre, and has been honing people's
bullsh*t creative skills since
2005 (coincidentally when B&B first
landed in Barcelona - coincidence?).

 |
Their courses are primarily targeted
at those hoping to break into the
advertising industry, but their
free bi-weekly Friday talks are
still remarkably interesting even
if you hold respectable jobs. Tonight,
for example, Rafa Soto kicks off
the 2009 series with 'The
Sex Pistols Will Save Advertising'.
No bread or butter, perhaps, but
food for thought nonetheless.
