Food-loving friends should be easy to buy for. But no, the usual hampers won’t do and they’re so fickle with flavours it’s impossible to know where to start. So surprise them, and get them something early. Bastarda (Honey Spencer and Anaïs Van Manen) first caught our eye during their Giant Steps takeover in the summer and now Honey’s back with a new collaborative series under the same name. The first instalment sees the sommelier team up with chef Elizabeth Haigh’s Kaizen House this December. Elizabeth has the five course Christmas feasts down, while Honey will be pairing everything with tiny batches of prolific winemakers – plus there’s a one-off Bastarda gift box to purchase too. All sounding ideal for those less than ideal to buy for.
