Some nights, you just need the classics. Thankfully, Joe Allen is back, with a new location, and all of that showbiz pizazz still very much on hand. The new home is on Burleigh Street, just 25 metres down the road from their former Exeter Street location. Retaining the heart-and-soul feel of their hard-won West End canteen identity (the choice is pretty much endless these days, but Joe Allen still manages to top it), Joe’s have brought everything including the piano with them. That means you’ll still be able to order the not-so-secret off-menu burger, a reuben, Joe’s salmon fishcake, chicken parmigiana and the glazed baby back ribs. Joe certainly has a lot to answer for.
