Groundbreaking deconstruction and timeless luxury are the two worlds of designer Martin Margiela, and the starting point of a new retrospective exhibition at Antwerp’s ModeMuseum. Set to redefine Margiela’s time at the helm of Hermès, MoMu explores the relationship ever-in-flux between Margiela’s work at Hermès and on his own label, Maison Martin Margiela, with his 1997 to 2003 collections on display for the first time. Margiela styled each mannequin himself, and you’ll find his Maison Margiela silhouettes shoulder to shoulder with his Hermès designs, to further trace this interplay.
