You’ve still got a few days left to catch Boom for Real at the Barbican (or to see it one last time!) until it closes on 28th January. Video Jam will be there for the final night, hosting a send-off party in Barbican hall from 8pm, with Mercury Prize-winning Young Fathers and Ibibio Sound Machine. For this evening, Video Jam have responded to the cultural impact of Basquiat, selecting NYC-based filmmakers and musicians from the UK and presenting animation, essay film, narrative and video art to consider the wider context of Basquiat’s work and impression on the art scene to this day. It’s set to be a fittingly noisy send-off for a landmark show.
