Margaret Crow

Co-founder of Neptune

In Conversation

If you’ve been keeping up with us, you’ll know it’s no secret that we’re fans of Margaret Crow and Brett Redman’s new venture Neptune – so we thought the launch of their new seasonal menu was the perfect opportunity to find out founder Margaret’s favourite haunts.

What should we order at Neptune?
Neptune’s seafood platter is a thing to behold! The selection changes depending regularly on what the freshest catch is, so every time you come it’s different. King crab legs, scallop carpaccio, whole crayfish, razor clams, smoked trout tartare, the freshest oysters, you never know what you’re going to get.

Which chef should we be watching right now?
Leandro Carreira is doing some pretty rad things at Londrino.

What’s your all-time favourite London restaurant?
Well, excluding Roti King and Silk Road for cheap eats… Barrafina! Nothing beats the thrill of nabbing two seats at the bar and gobbling their excellent tapas.

Where do you like to eat in your area?
In Neptune’s neighbourhood of Bloomsbury, Noble Rot is my favourite for snacks and natural wine after work. And near my home in Hackney, yakitori at Jidori is the best way to spend a Friday.

Where do you go to celebrate?
I take any excuse to go out for ridiculously expensive sushi. Sushi Tetsu is my favourite, but getting a table at Ikeda in Mayfair is a sure bet and equally as high quality.
