A legendary Ibiza figure, Javier is the founder of Café Mambo, which is one of the venues that really launched the sunset strip, as well as a host of other restaurants and bars.
In our chat, he’ll be talking to us about his early Ibiza days including how Café Mambo came about, his insider key to the nightclub KU (which is now the recently launched UNVRS), and he also tells us about a secret bar, other Ibiza picks, and the next locations he might have his eyes on for future Grupo Mambo spots.
For more information on Javier and his businesses follow his Instagram (personal) and some of his venues including Café Mambo, Casa Maca, La Torre, Pomelo Playa, and Cala Gracioneta, too.
“It’s a little bar in Santa Agnès; has the atmosphere of Ibiza. The owner is called Tony Sonrisas, Tony Smiling.”

Ocean Drive Talamanca hotel
Ocean Drive Talamanca is one of our favourite places to stay in Ibiza; it’s seriously our second home. Set moments from the beach, in the local’s much-loved neighbourhood, Talamanca, it’s the perfect location if you’re wanting to do a little bit of everything: it’s close to Ibiza Town and the clubs, and it’s close to the beach and the marina, too. Home to many a DJ passing through, the clientele here may be global, but the staff, many who have been here for several years, instantly make you feel right at home.

BA
With numerous direct flights daily in the summer to Ibiza, from three different UK airports, they are our airline of choice. If you’re a Silver or Gold member in their Executive Club, you also get access, when you’re flying BA, to the Ibiza airport VIP Cap des Falcó lounge; head for Gate 1 and you’ll find it.
