More info

NY-based Erik Schlip is one of the three designers at Rotganzen, the studio that has worked with The Veuve Clicquot Souvenir Bar, a Champagne bar that’s the creative vision of the multi-talented St. Vincent. Erik took the time, pre-bar launch, to give us some of his favourite NY spots.

For restaurants, I like… Olmsted in Brooklyn (casual) and The Modern in the MoMA (upmarket).

To celebrate, it’s… Threesome Tollbooth, a cocktail bar for two people.

My favourite international restaurant is Chez Ma Tante (Montreal) and Kaagman & Kortekaas in Amsterdam.

You might not know about… the rooftop of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

My favourite global shop is Moustache Editions in Paris.

For wellbeing, it’s… D.S. & DURGA, pioneers of scent, especially their amazing creation, Bowmakers.

For a weekend getaway, it’s… Rome, because Italy is just all things good for the soul, the heart, and the stomach.

With Souvenir, I was most excited about: working with St. Vincent and the amazing talent, including Matty Bovan who’s done the costumes, Pippa Guy who has created a bespoke Champagne cocktail and Kirk and Keeley from Plates London who have worked on the food pairing – none of whom we had met before, all collaborating to make something memorable and special. It’s just as exciting for us as for the audience.

Do come and visit Souvenir. It’s not often that something so exciting is being offered for such a limited amount of time.

I’d tell my younger self… to be your own boss as soon as you can. Working for someone else is just a waste of your time and talent.

Souvenir will open its doors from 22nd – 23rd November.
