Tucked away, off Sloane Street, is this five-star all-apartment ‘house’. With a 24-hour concierge and luxe fittings, you could really hole up here for awhile and pretend you had the funds to actually live here.
The Brand
The Cheval collection has ‘boutique residence’ properties in London, Edinburgh and Dubai and operates as a very personable home away from home. Most people there, it seemed, were staying for extended periods of time, and the setup is perfect for that.
The Vibe
Everything here is cordial, efficient, and discreet. You are on a tucked away, leafy street just off Sloane Street, so it feels hidden yet extremely central. Hyde Park, Knightsbridge, Piccadilly: they’re all close.
The Rooms
There are 34 open plan one- and two-bedroom apartments, and they are extremely generous in space. There are living room/kitchens that are fully equipped to a high spec, in case you want to chill and stay in, as well as luxe bathrooms with marble floors and L’Occitane products. There’s a washer/dryer with pods, books, and an ironing board; you really do have everything you need. And the best part? The concierge. They’re there for reservations, to accept Amazon packages, to help with luggage, to print something; in today’s world of self-service everything, sometimes the real luxury is that IRL help.
Restaurants/Bars
Cheval Phoenix House is next door to an exceptional Indian restaurant, Kahani London. Come here for a four-course menu, where you’ll be greeted by a bustling restaurant of locals and tourists, with staff who are eager to make sure you have a great time. Dishes are charred, spiced, and presented in an elevated way, and they have jazz on Thursdays. Staying at Cheval Phoenix House, you are in central London, so you can also, of course, order in or take a walk!
Highlights
The location. Whether you live in London or are a tourist, this location is a great place to people watch and window shop for the weekend. Book a show at the Royal Court or Royal Albert Hall, head to Colbert or Zuma, or shop at the new Zimmermann boutique, Harvey Nichols and Harrods (both close by). The options are endless for a haute foray.
