Wilde Liverpool Street

Hip aparthotel in east LDN

Details

More info

Wilde is Europe’s fastest growing aparthotel brand, and you can see why. Design-led, they truly fit into their surroundings, and offer a product that makes sense. With properties opening in Amsterdam, Lisbon, Porto, Cambridge and Vienna this year, it seems like they are just getting started.

The Hotel

An emerald green tile facade camouflages the hotel’s corner entrance: is it a pub? Is it a restaurant? Wilde Liverpool Street has 106 rooms across 11 categories, and is a six-minute walk to Aldgate Station and 10 minutes to Liverpool Street.

The Vibe

This is an upbeat place. The décor has a slight 70s vibe with mismatched patterns and textures, and there’s a warmth that radiates – from both the staff and the colour palette.

The Rooms

They call it thoughtful design, and it is: every centimetre of space has a purpose. Each room is set up like an apartment: there’s a fridge, compact dishwasher, stove, Nespresso, Smeg kettle and toaster, iron, rainforest shower and desk. Views range, but you’re definitely in the city, which feels fresh; look outside your window and lock eyes with office workers across the way.

Restaurants/Bars

They really do lean into local here. On their gin menu you’ll find Portobello Road, Hoxton Dry, East London Liquor, 58 and Co, and Cotswolds Dry; the breakfast menu had some interesting local additions like Oscar’s Toasties (with menu items such as a toastie with kimcheese, pickled onions, sriracha, and a seasonal frittata with dukkah).

Highlights

Their 24-hour self-service shop, which again, has a truly amazing selection of hand-picked products (if DELLI had a store, is the vibe): for snacks, Torres crisps and Perello olives; for drinks, there are local beers, wines, Press juices and kombuchas; to cook, ready-made FieldGoods dishes like Thai Red Curry and Fish Pie; there are also products to take home, like Honest Toil olive oil and White Mausu’s Peanut Rayu; and for toiletries, they have almost everything you may have forgotten.

Anything Else

Some rooms have terraces, so check before you book. You’re also close to SO MANY great restaurants, so walk around and enjoy being east!
