HIDDEN CONSUMPTION
The Moveable Kitchen gets semi–permanent, Bistrotheque launch their three–day Patron Silver Reindeer restaurant, & Towards a Fluid State sets our taste–buds a–simmering

Your housemate and her leather pig outfit. Your work colleague and her Twix stash. Me and my depleted desk-side booze collection. Dirty little secrets. And we all have them.

But I say it’s time to stand tall; to hide no more. Let the world know who you really are.

Take The Moveable Kitchen as a prime example. Putting a halt to their Littlest Hobo meanderings and laying down semi–roots at the Tom Dixon space in Portobello instead, they’re offering stunning menus themed on everything from the 17th Century Castelvetro to Keralan Coconuts and Curry Leaves. Though in traditional TMK style, be sure to book ahead (and BYOB).

Then there’s Bistrotheque (perhaps the epitome of the out–of–the–way cross–dressing culinary cross–over), who are coming out of their Bethnal Green closet with the Patron Reindeer – a tequila–induced, three–day takeover of a converted photo studio near King’s Cross. If it’s anything close to the original ’06 Reindeer or last year’s Flash , I know a number of restaurantaholics who’ll be happy Christmas bunnies.

But it’s not just the foodies who are standing proud. Fear not my fellow fervent alcophiles! The spirited (geddit) gals behind the inimitable Tasting Sessions are also crying "Screw this! We shall hide no longer!" and are unleashing a tasting experience (and we stress the experience) like no other entitled Towards a Fluid State. Imagine a futuristic farmers’ market getting hit by a science lab and a truck full of the sexiest booze and food on Earth.

So conceal your appetites no longer, my dear secret consumers: the time for an uprising is upon us! Though maybe leave the leather pig outfit at home. Just a thought.
