With one eye still on the last shows of the S/S ’27 fashion weeks (Blazy’s Chanel with the Britney!), we’re now starting to look ahead to art. And as it’s October, ’tis the month of art, first in London and then in Paris. If you have a chance to look around, we hope you see something inspiring.
Have great weeks all.

 | | | | | | Right: Juergen Teller, Young Pink Kate | | 90s | | | It’s no news that the 90s are back. If you’re a fan, three things for your diary include The 90s: Art and Fashion at Tate Britain (from 8 October); The Ivy Collection’s Cool Britannia menu, with 90s favourites; and the unveiling of Carnaby Street’s 90s-themed Christmas lights, titled Press Play, which will be switched on 4 November.

 | | | | | | 'Conversations with Nature' Exhibition with Tadashi Kawamata | | Partner Content | | Always a Frieze highlight, Ruinart, the official Champagne of Frieze, annually commissions a celebrated contemporary artist to pay tribute to the Maison’s legacy through their work, and this year they’ve chosen Tadashi Kawamata. Known for his installations that use wood and reused materials, Kawamata’s work at Frieze explores fragility and impermanence, inviting viewers to think about how nature is essential to the harmony of Champagne.
Stop by the Ruinart Art Bar to have a glass and a peek, 14-18 October.

 | | | | | | Here, There, Everywhere | | This week we’re going to start with a LON>NYC pop up, as we’ve got our eye on NYC lately… That, plus a list of London recent openings, and a few things to note for November, too.

 | | | | | | Dining and Other Art Events to Note | | | At Frieze, there’s of course the art, but as a reminder, there are also excellent restaurant pop ups including Rita’s, Jikoni, and Sessions Arts Club at Frieze, and Nobu and Trullo at Frieze Masters. For some other art options: the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair is on 15-18 October at Somerset House, with South Africa’s Hazendal Wine Estate as the wine sponsor. At 180 Studios, there’s now another chance to see Ryoji Ikeda’s latest video installation (until 14 October), exploring the intersection of art and physics; expect lights, high-frequency sounds, and rapid video transitions. UJ fave Corbin Shaw has curated a new exhibition, Feast of Fools, at The Groucho Club, which will be open to the public every Saturday afternoon (13 October to mid-November). Book a place by emailing. And to celebrate their first year in Mayfair, where they earned a Michelin star within the first five months (we love it here), Labombe by Trivet have opened Luminescence, a group exhibition in partnership with Angelica Jopling’s Incubator Gallery.

 | | | | | | The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton | | 15 October | | | The Clink Restaurant supports people serving sentences with hands-on hospitality training, helping them find work post-release. The restaurant’s had a refurb, and to launch it, Adam Bateman, head chef at Pan Pacific London, will be in the kitchen for a one-off three-course lunch on 15 October, cooking alongside the students. All proceeds from the tickets go towards supporting the programme run by The Clink Charity. See this interview with Adam about the event.

 | | | | | | Art Basel Paris | | | Still on art: if you haven’t had enough art-speak by the end of the month, or would rather make time for art after a trip on the Eurostar, Art Basel Paris, now in its fifth year, is on 23-25 October.

 | | | | | | White City House | | | Soho House has been leading the way for years on in-room products to try (and sometimes buy), and we recently noticed the addition of Zooki x Soho Health Club electrolytes and liquid vitamin sachets in the bathroom at White City House, which is smart! More of this please.

 | | | | | | Photo by Dave Xu | | Tourist for the Day | | | While we’re thinking about staycations… There’s nothing quite like remembering that London is one of the best cities in the world, and seeing it from the water offers a whole new perspective. We took a day to be a tourist in our own town, which included an hour and a half on a City Cruise, floating down the Thames – fun was had. Read all about it!

 | | | | | | Round Up | | After a quick last trip to the White Isle, a few things to report!
NY-based brand Luar and The Standard collaborated to design a limited-edition swim brief that was launched with an intimate dinner at The Standard, Ibiza. See our social from the night and read all about the collaboration, which is available at The Standard’s Ibiza and Miami locations and online.
We finally went on an Ibiza Hike Station hike, and we can’t recommend it enough. We did the intermediate Arch Hike – there are so many different routes to choose from, so make sure you spend some time deciding which one sounds right for you, should you book. They are open throughout the winter.
After ‘Munchietown’ dining pop ups across the globe, Seth Troxler and DJ Tennis have launched a restaurant, Seth and Manni’s. It opened yesterday and is a two-minute walk from Pacha. Paul Delrez will be ‘in the house’ on 7 October for one night. Reserve a table.
Ben’s Bio Market in Marina Botafoch is a great place to pick up healthy groceries. It’s small, but a very welcome addition to the island’s grocer options.
And this Saturday is the 50th anniversary, for the legendary Amnesia closings – if you go, send us pics!

 | | | | | | The Situation | | | Edward Buchanan, who has worked in fashion for over three decades (he was the design director of Bottega Veneta’s first ready-to-wear collection, has his own brand Sansovino 6, and is Pucci’s knitwear designer), recently launched The Situation, a non-profit hub in Milan for under-represented creatives. The space will operate as a gallery/studio for talent in residence, who will benefit from his and his network’s guidance. A real-life guardian angel.

 | | | | | | 13-15 November, London | | Partner Content | | | Alex Potter, ex-GLP Hospitality (Love Brunch, Rum Kitchen, PING, Foley’s, Passo, to name a few), has, since stepping away, spent the past 10 years teaching as a body-mind practitioner, integrating extensive training across somatic work, contemplative practice, and the expressive arts, bringing his entrepreneurial DNA into experience design. He’s now launching Inward, a group embodiment practice, with a three-day non-residential retreat in London. It brings breath, sound, movement, and creative expression together to a gathering of artists, makers, founders, and leaders across disciplines who want to explore their inner work – in their professional life, in their personal life, or both – in a new way. It’s co-led with Ron Bunzl, founder of LALA, and starts with a lunch and ends with a dinner, so you get the tone.
