A selection of what’s caught our eye recently. Enjoy!

First, we’re going to start with a transfer, as we’ve had NYC on the mind lately. Bentley’s Oyster Bar, a classic and UJ fave, is heading to NYC, popping up at Sailor NYC on 11 and 12 November as part of Chase Sapphire’s London Calling series. Is this pop up a prelude? Let’s see…
Looking at a transfer the other way, LA’s Urth Caffé is opening in Covent Garden next year.
Also in LA, Bar Marmont has softly re-opened after a decade-long hiatus, with Indochine’s Jean-Marc Howard directing the menu, which sounds perfect. More info.

Remember Bubble Dogs? Champagne and hot dogs, we always loved that pairing. Well, now Milk Burger on Westbourne Grove is doing the same combo, but with burgers.
A. Wong is reopening his two-star Pimlico location on 10 October, after an extensive refurbishment, with a new version of his ‘Collections of China’ menu. There will still also be an à la carte menu, with dim sum, for lunch.
Three Uncles is opening a King’s Cross location mid-October. The space is inspired by the food courts of Hong Kong, and the menu will have their usual Cantonese roast meats, noodles and dim sum, as well as new desserts.
The Savoy is launching the Beaufort Wine Bar with, excitingly, the UK’s largest wine-by-the-glass offering, including some rare and vintage wines. Opens 13 October.

Coming Soon – November
If you like Kiln, you probably really like Kiln. PAM will be the first restaurant from Kiln’s ex-Head Chef, Karla Knowles, in Farringdon.
The excellent Kudu team are going back to south London with a modern-fired rotisserie chicken concept, Braai Bird, taking over their former Kudu Grill site.
Save the date: on the 10 and 11 of November, founders John and Desiree Chantarasak of AngloThai are bringing John’s friend and mentor, David Thompson, over from Bangkok’s Michelin-star Aksorn to cook together. Sign up for priority bookings here.
Also in November, and this one sounds great: Harts Group, who truly know authentic Spain, are opening Los Primos in Borough Yards, a cerveceria inspired by Spanish neighbourhood bars. Pull up a stool for an ice-cold caña or a glass of vermut on tap, and order from a selection of tapas.
