Top 5: Indoor Gardens

  • Sake No Hana

Celebrating Sakura (cherry blossom season), Sake no Hana’s cherry blossom installation returns. And, it’s not just about the instagrammable blossoms, falling petals, grass floor, and moving blossom projections and hundreds of twinkling lights, but also the Japanese small plates and cherry-based cocktails on offer until June 18.

  • Private: Shochu Lounge at ROKA

For a trip to Japanese without the flight, head to Roka on Charlotte Street, then descend into the Shochu Lounge for an immersive cherry blossom installation, complete with a Sakura-inspired cocktail menu such as Match a Rack – an infusion of matcha, arrack, whisky, and umami spirit and mango cordial. Kanpai!

  • Dalloway Terrace

Nestled in the heart of Bloomsbury, put Dalloway Terrace on your radar if your looking for an indoor-outdoor, all-day dining spot. Expect an all day menu of seared tuna, beef carpaccio, hand-dived seared scallops and coq-au-vin. As for the secret garden? It’s under a fully retractable roof and hidden lower level.

  • Boundary Rooftop

Boundary Rooftop in Shoreditch has set its dial to France, thanks to a Provençal-style rooftop summer menu. Inspired by the sun-drenched Mediterranean, the rooftop will serve a light and fresh all-day menu of classic Provençal dishes, as well as a carefully curated coastal wine list and a range of specialist gin and tonics, plus pitchers of cocktails and punches.

  • Petershem Nurseries

For unadulterated rustic charm, Petersham Nurseries must be the go-to. Sure, Skye Gyngell, the chef who won it its Michelin may have moved on, but with former Hix Soho chef Damian Clisby in charge, it’s in good hands. Housed inside a giant green house, come here for seasonal dishes florished with edible flowers and hand picked herbs from the garden.
