Madia Vale’s beloved Truscott Arms may have been forced to close in 2017, but everything’s not lost. Henry Harris (Racine, Bibendum) has relaunched the gastropub as the Hero of Madia, and yes, the Sunday roasts are back. Henry built his reputation on creating exquisite French cuisine, so it’s no surprise that the traditional fare at Hero also brings in French influences (in other words, Henry says we can expect to see a roast beef with all the trimmings alongside a seven-hour slow-roasted shoulder of lamb with rosemary). As chief director, Henry’s enlisted Steve Collins as head chef and Thomas Blythe as general manager.
