A lab-like basement bar just off Carnaby St., Soho

Set beneath the London edition of Sucre – which featured on the Latin America 50 Best Restaurants list – is Abajo.  Dark, smoultry, with an almost lab-like feel to it, thankfully it’s also fun and welcoming, with an innovative cocktail menu. And with globally acclaimed mixologist, Tato Giovanni, at the helm here too – as he was at the Sucre in Buenos Aires – this is a much-needed addition to the central London cocktail offering.
