Brasserie of Light

Open all day, Selfridge’s Brasserie of Light is exactly that: a glass box high in the sky, with a gleaming XXL Damien Hirst crystal Pegasus presiding. This is Damian’s largest piece (24 feet to be exact), and its grandiose stature is apt for this venue. The menu here is perfect for a shopping pick-me-up; think classics with a bit of bling including salmon with caviar and truffle all around (truffle rice balls, chicken dumplings with truffle, wagyu with truffle, wild mushroom rice bowl with truffle). For drinks, cocktails were well done, and the wine list is on the reasonable yet interesting side. For dessert it has to be a Pegasus Pie; when in Rome.
