Brett Redman is on a roll. Having already given East London its first raw bar (The Richmond), the Australian chef is responsible for another first: Hackney’s first Yakitori bar. Inspired by the izakayas of Memory Lane in Shinjuku, Jidori focuses on yakitori skewers – using all parts of the chicken – served alongside Japanese small plates and rice dishes. As for the desserts, we can’t look past the soft serves: think matcha and white chocolate and ginger miso caramel with sweet potato crisps and black sesame praline.
